Monferrato Dolcetto

Description

The Dolcetto is a Piedmontese indegenous vine variety whose origins date back  before the 16th century. The term “dolcetto” does not refer to the organoleptic properties of the homonym wine, as to the grapes, whose berries are indeed low-acid and very sweet.

History

On the Monferrato hills there is a black fruit grape variety which for ages shares people’s fortunes and myseries standing by all those faithful  people who wished to devote some attention to the land: this variety is the Dolcetto. It is not a too vigorous vine plant and even resistant to hardship and diseases, but has remained stubbornly close to winemaker, giving him sweet fruits to produce a wine from genuine and simple characters of which is easy to fall in love at first sight.
